It provides high quality, actionable information and practical advice, along with connecting London businesses to expert assistance to help them succeed. It is available 24 hours a day through a telephone enquiry line and web site.

The London Development Agency (LDA) manages the Business Link service for London to deliver business support services for London's entrepreneurs.

The new Business Link service

Business Link London will provide a free customer driven Information, Diagnostic and Brokerage (IDB) service. Business Link London's proposition to all SMEs in London is to:

  • enable their business to prosper
  • provide an IDB service that is designed to meet the customer's needs
  • offer a high quality service so that BLL earns the right to be the London SME first port of call for business suport

Information, Diagnostic and Brokerage (IDB) service

In delivering this role Business Link London will provide free customer driven Information, Diagnostic and Brokerage (IDB) service (as defined in the National Framework from the Smal Business Service).

Although the fundamentals of the service are consistant across the UK, BLL will ensure that the service is tailored to meet the diverse London community ensuring that all businesses can access information online or via telephone 24 hours a day 7 days a week (24/7).

Businesses will also receive a brokerage service to the business support providers in either the public or private sectors who can best meet their needs.

Where is the new Business Link London service based?

The new service operation wil run from a number of strategic sites around London with brokers geographically positioned to offer a localised service base to London's SME communities as well as remain a central London presence. These are in the boroughs of:

  • Haringey
  • Merton
  • Newham
  • Southwark
  • Tower Hamlets
  • Wembley

BLL will also work in partnership with key organisations and intermediaries across London by working from partners sites in order to provide better outreach and accessibility to business customers and the community.
