About the LDA projects

Below is a selection of some of our projects which we support across our four themes: Places and infrastructure, Supporting people, Encouraging business and Promoting London.

Bernie Grant Centre
This flagship venture in Tottenham, north London, was created to provide dedicated arts, education, training and enterprise support. 

City Fringe Pathways To Jobs
This programme addressed the main barriers to employment in the City Fringe, the widening skills gap or mismatch between the skills required for the majority of jobs created in the City and the City Fringe, and the skills of the local unemployed. 

Local Development Actions - LDA2
Deatils on LDA2, the programme to support the development and delivery of local economic development and regeneration. 

Local Employment Access Projects (LEAP)
LEAP started in July 1993 as an initiative to help people from, what was known as, the Harlesden City Challenge (HCC) area to find employment. 

Carshalton Nursery
On 21st April 2004 the new LDA-funded neighbourhood nursery at Carshalton College was opened. 

Migrants Qualification Project
This is a pan-London project that will enhance the employment opportunities of 2000 migrants in key sectors of the London economy. 

GOALS Project
The GOALS Project, a unique football-inspired scheme funded by the LDA helps disadvantaged young people from Willesden, Hammersmith, Fulham and Acton get into work or return to education. 

London City Growth Programme
Business-led programme aimed at bringing about economic regeneration of deprived inner city areas. It focuses on supporting high growth business start-ups, business growth and retention, attracting new companies and investment and developing business clusters. 

International Convention Centre
The LDA set up a Mayoral Commission in 2004 to assess the feasibility to develop an International Convention Centre in London, a final report was submitted in 2005. 

Hothouse
The LDA has given over £1 million funding to Hothouse, a new centre for artists specialising in urban regeneration.

Training programme linked to the 2012 Games, offering Londoners a stepping stone into work.
