Just the job?

A research project into job brokerage provision in Camden, Islington, Hackney and Tower Hamlets, and the identification of good practice both regionally and nationally.

Just the Job? Good Practice Guide and Toolkit

A good practice guide for organisations providing job brokerage services.

This guide was produced by the London Development Agency (LDA) as part of our goal to regenerate and develop the City Fringe, Kings Cross and Finsbury Park areas.

In February 2004 we commissioned research from Tank Consulting to identify where job brokerage activities were happening in the boroughs of Camden, Hackney, Islington and Tower Hamlets.

The research also singled out examples of good practice and analysed the distribution and quality of job brokerage agencies, and their effectiveness in helping people obtain jobs.

Toolkit

The Just the Job - Job Brokerage self-assessment toolkit was developed in order to review and benchmark organisations who considered themselves as delivering job brokerage services.

The self assessment toolkit supports organisational development for job brokerage organisations.

Areas of operational activity are identified and can be measured against a set of broad acheivement criteria.

Once the self assessment has been completed it automatically generates an operational development plan which address areas where there are service development needs.

This set of organisational competencies translates into a quality framework for job brokerage provision. The toolkit programme can by downloading the zipped file below.
