As London's Regional Development Agency, we work hard to deliver sustainable economic developments that benefit Londoners. We aim to improve the competitiveness and productivity of business, create opportunities in the labour market, and engage and enable our many diverse communities.
Unlike other Regional Development Agencies (RDAs) we are regulated by local government legislation and we are a Best Value Authority. Best Value enables us to achieve sound management and raise our performance. It acts as a benchmark for our commitment to achieving continuous improvement in the way we are run.
Each year we report against our Best Value Performance Indicators (BVPIs). These are then audited.
In the past the LDA has also published a Best Value performance improvement plan. Since then, our improvement planning has become more linked up with our Corporate planning, so much that we have not produced a full Best Value Performance Improvement Plan since 2004-2005. We have, however been meeting the requirements of a plan by publishing our BVPIs and our Statement of Compliance with the Code of Workforce Practice.
All individual contracts awarded during the period 2005-2006 to 2007-2008 involving the transfer of staff comply, where applicable, with the requirements of the Code of Practice on Workforce Matters in Local Authority Service Contracts.
