The London Development Agency (LDA) has won the Government Opportunity Magazine Collaborative Procurement Award for developing the CompeteFor service.
Over 18,500 companies have already signed up for CompeteFor which matches business of all sizes to thousands of contract opportunities around the 2012 Games.
It also matches companies with local Business Link support services to help boost the long-term competitiveness of business across the UK. The service is expected to produce £6 billion in work for London businesses.
Geoff Newton, Head of Olympic Opportunities at the LDA, said that innovative projects such as CompeteFor are crucial in spreading the benefits of the 2012 Games as wide as possible.
The LDA put the service into operation with other regional development agencies, the London Organising Committee (LOCOG), the Olympic Development Authority (ODA) and the London Business Network.
