Opportunities Fund 2012 Update

LDA Opportunities Fund 2012 Update publication The 2012 themed projects within the LDA Opportunities Fund showcase the long-term benefits that the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games are already bringing to London. The positive impact these projects are having on people's lives can be clearly seen when talking to the beneficiaries involved. Such locally delivered projects make a real impact on London's economic development, and help regenerate pockets of deprivation across London.

On 3 March 2008 a reception was held at City Hall to mark the success of these projects. One thousand Londoners and 186 businesses have already benefited from the £11 million London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games jobs and skills programme. Launched just 10 months ago the fund aims to help London's most disadvantaged and excluded communities through a range of skills courses, work placements and support for businesses run by groups such as the Peabody Trust, Princes Trust, Centrepoint, Action for Blind People and Charlton Athletic Community Trust.

The scheme will benefit over 14,000 Londoners and 1500 businesses from 2007 to 2010 and Opportunities Fund projects will benefit residents in every London borough.

A number of case studies on the beneficiaries are now available to view below with more detailed information on the projects.
