The London Skills for Life Strategy will guide and support the development of all Skills for Life provision in London.
It will help ensure that those living and working in the capital have the skills that they need to access jobs and learning opportunities.
The Strategy has been developed jointly by the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) London region, the London Development Agency (LDA), London Jobcentre Plus (JCP) and other regional partners supported by JH Consulting.
The work of delivering the action plan is now being taken forward through the London Multi-Agency Skills Team (MAST).
The development of the Strategy has made clear links between skills for life and employability and the need to improve the effectiveness of provision by embedding it in vocational areas. The trailblazing work that has emerged from the strategy has anticipated Leitch and Freud reports in many ways and advocates further integration between the skills and employment infrastructure.
A key element of the new Strategy is to make sure that Skills for Life provision meets the varied needs of different groups of learners and employers whether work related or to support inclusion.
