Background
The London Development Agency (LDA) welcomes the introduction of the Gender Equality Duty which places a requirement on all public authorities to promote gender equality in all of their activities.
The Gender Equality Scheme (GES) outlines the LDA's evidence-based priorities to deliver gender equality over the coming three years.
Consultation on the draft GES
We are committed to listening to, and learning from, feedback from women, men and transgender communities in London. A three month public consultation on our draft GES ran from the 30 April to 1 August 2007.

Mail out
The draft GES and questionnaire was sent to the LDA's wide database of partners, including voluntary sector, women’s and trans organisations, other public sector bodies and other minority led organisations.

The draft GES and the accompanying questionnaire are available for download and viewing on the LDA website.

Public Liaison Unit (PLU)
The PLU team at the LDA were fully briefed on the consultation programme to help direct external callers, promote the consultation and engage with our stakeholders.

Internal distribution
The GES was featured in our internal newsletter 'London Unlocked' and intranet system to help raise profile and awareness. Consultation events were also be organised with LDA staff.

The LDA equalities team works with partners to promote the GES through external events and meetings.
